1 :

Days 1–2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp & Shira Plateau

Start at Machame Gate and trek through lush rainforest alive with birds and colobus monkeys. Camp overnight before continuing to Shira Plateau, where landscapes open into moorland with sweeping views of Kilimanjaro’s peaks.

2 :

Days 3–4: Shira to Lava Tower & Barranco Valley

Climb higher towards Lava Tower (4,600m) for acclimatization, then descend into the Barranco Valley with its dramatic giant Senecio trees. This balance of ascent and descent helps your body adjust to the altitude.

Days 5–6: Karanga to Barafu Camp

Trek across alpine desert terrain to Karanga Camp, followed by a push to Barafu Camp at 4,680m – your base camp for the summit. Rest and prepare for the final ascent.

Day 7: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak (5,895m)

At midnight, begin the summit attempt. Trek through the night, reaching Stella Point at sunrise before continuing to Uhuru Peak – the highest point in Africa. Celebrate with breathtaking views over glaciers and the African plains below. Descend back to Mweka Camp.

Day 8: Mweka Gate & Departure

Finish your trek at Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your official climbing certificate before returning to Moshi or Arusha.
